The runway was only closed down temporarily to accommodate the much awaited arrival of the new Sunseeker 131, which is making her debut at the London Boat Show 2016

The journey along the Thames for Sunseeker International’s eagerly anticipated 131 Yacht launch at the London Boat Show was a major logistical exercise as London City Airport temporarily closed a runway to allow the 131 feet superyacht (40 metres) to pass through King George V Lock.

The 131 Yacht will be the largest model ever to make its debut at the London Boat Show at Excel. She will be displayed alongside the collection of other Sunseeker models ranging from 50 feet upwards.

The luxury yacht maker has confirmed that demand for their new model is already high, with the first five already pre-sold to customers around the globe.
The five vessels are already in build at Sunseeker’s facilities in Poole, Dorset. With demand so high on this model, Sunseeker International will be hosting exclusive previews of the 131 Yacht for customers which will include a private transfer by an Airbus Helicopter H135 from their homes to Excel during the show.

Sunseeker 131

The Sunseeker 131 enables its owner to tailor every element of the interior design and layout to their personal preferences via the boat builders’‘Bespoke’ service. Standard guest configuration is for 10 guests in five cabins, with scope for up to 12 to be accommodated depending on the layout and options selected. The spacious garage can accommodate a tender of up to 6.0m in length plus two PWCs.
A standout feature is the addition of feature glass in the master stateroom, saloon and upper saloon to create a light filled and comfortable environment for owner and guests.

Based on the classic Sunseeker deep V hull, this large tri-deck yacht is equally comfortable operating at 10 knots for an extended cruising range of 1,500 nautical miles or at 23 knots for ultimate performance.

Sean Robertson, Sales Director at Sunseeker International said: “The London Boat Show is always extremely exciting and draws a truly international selection of clients. I am delighted we are launching this special new yacht, the first – and largest – of four new Sunseeker models set to debut in 2016. The first five of these stunning yachts have already been sold to clients from all over the world, underlining the strong demand and global appeal we’re seeing for this exciting new evolution in design. We look forward to welcoming existing and new customers during the show.”

The 131 Yacht will make its world premiere at London Boat Show from 8th to 17th January 2016.
